For most recent iPhones, a compact 20W to 30W USB-C Power Delivery charger is enough for fast everyday charging. Choose 45W or more when you also want to charge an iPad, laptop, or several devices.
Start with the iPhone connector
iPhone 15 and newer models use USB-C, while earlier supported models use Lightning. A USB-C wall charger can work with either group, but the cable must match the phone. Check both cable ends before ordering.
Choose wattage for the whole setup
A higher-rated USB-C charger does not force excessive power into a compatible iPhone. The phone and charger negotiate the supported level. Extra wattage becomes useful when the same charger will also power a tablet or laptop.
One port or several ports
A single-port charger is smaller and easier to understand. A multi-port charger is better for travel or a desk, but its total output may be shared when several devices are connected. Read the per-port and combined-output details.
Cable quality matters
Use a cable rated for the required power and connector. Replace damaged cables, avoid loose connectors, and do not assume every USB-C cable supports the same charging or data features.
Buying checklist
- Confirm the iPhone connector
- Choose at least the phone's supported charging wattage
- Check whether a cable is included
- Compare single-port and shared multi-port output
